Today is Sep 21, 2008. Yesterday someone told me to see the TV urgently as there was a huge blast at the Marriot hotel in Pakistan. I said 'no thanks' I am fine without seeing it. I see them all the time. There was going to be nothing new in watching burnt cars, bleeding bodies and cracked buildings. It was not because I was being cynical, but just being practical to the realities of new life. I have just seen the blasts in Delhi and then police action a few days later. Blasts and bullets do not pull me to the news channels any more. The world has changed drastically and this change is for ever. I have changed. I don't care if people are dying, if trains are being ripped apart, if tall buildings are folding up like pack of cards. This is life now; new realities of life. I have no idea if these ideal 'quotes' about love, compassion and honesty make any dent in the human psyche. Soon we all will forget all of it. They will soon seem like a strange combination of words put together. But until that happens, let me copy them from here and there and reproduce them.

Arun Chadha is in town. he had called dharam from delhi to say that he wanted to shoot for 2 days and needed a sound recordist. dharam was surprised and asked him 'did you call arun? he is here only.' and he gave me the phone. frankly i was feeling odd that he forgot about me and that i too am a sound recordist, even after we were together for a whole month in jhansi. i screwed him on phone very well. i also decided that i will try to avoid doing his work and teach him a lesson. that was the instant reaction. later he sms'ed me about a program based on science. he asked me if i can do it right from 'concept note to script and make' it. i said 'yes' instantly for the offer, conditions may change as the dealings go further. after this i got a bit composed. i also decided to work on his 2 days shoot.
i am trying to change. i am watching myself, my thoughts and my actions. i think i am better reigned now and not getting swayed by mood. i am also avoiding feeling offended. actually no one is trying offend any one.
i am meeting him in a few minutes to discuss his 2 days shoot and the science program that he has offered me. let us see. i will keep myself in control and keep in good humor. i must not show undue temper or resistance to anyone's ideas any more; especially if i am getting something out of him. i guess that is mean. actually the rule applies to everyone. NO BEING MEAN TO ANYONE ANY MORE.
Hmmm...
