Sound workshop FTII, Sep, 08
Between Sep 15 and 18, 2008, I was invited by Vinod Kalra to do a workshop with 'sound' students at the TV wing of FTII. There were four boys, Jeet Singh (Sikh), Alok Chaudhary, Sanal George and Anand Mankutti. First day only 3 attended.
Sep 15: mainly lecturing on how sound works / good sound track can make an immense difference to the product's polish.
Sep 16: thought for the day, "every second of your sound recording should be usable." / mind of audience can analyze only two and a half different sounds at one time, quote from Walter Murch.
Sep 17: thought for the day, "no sequence in the film should reveal 'absence' of the sound recordist."
Left Pune early morning for home. Met Sumit every evening.
